Vistara airlines eyeing international routes
Indian aviation industry is growing so fast. In the year 2017, a lot had happened and year 2018 is going to be very exciting. Vistara is a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines. In an interview the chief strategy office of Vistara Airlines Mr. Sanjiv Kapoor, said this. The company is all set to start paperwork for international operations on routes that can be covered in three to four hours.
Sanjeev Kapoor was interacting with reporters on the launch of daily flights between Chennai and Delhi on February 15 22018. He informed that “Company is going to start paperwork for international operations when the company will get the 21st aircraft in May. There is a plan to fly international in the second half of the year on routes that can be covered in three hours or more. Kapoor said “Company may pick destinations in Southeast Asia.”
Vistara Airlines growth
Company is focused on providing better services during flight. Vistara is aiming few long international routes of 10hrs. During the flight passengers will get food, wifi and other services. Vistara Airlines was found in 2013 started operations in January 2015. In just 2 years, company has achieved remarkable growth. The airline had carried more than two million passengers by June 2016 and as of May 2017. Company has a 3.3% share of the domestic carrier market, making it the 6th largest domestic airline.
However, the airline serves twenty-one destinations with a fleet of Airbus A320-200 aircraft. Vistara was the first airline to introduce premium economy seats on domestic routes in India.
