Singapore Airlines to operate more flights from India
After getting a huge profitable season, Singapore Airlines is aiming to invest more time and money in Indian Markets. We all know that SIA & TATA have a joint venture by the name of Vistara Airlines. Although SIA has 49% shares in venture. Tata Sons have majority in shares with higher 51% stakes. After this successful session, Singapore Airlines is all set to increase flights from India soon.
As per the official statement “We will add an additional 10 flights per week by the end of March. We will fly one extra flight from Mumbai, taking the number of flights to 18 per week from the current operation of 17 weekly flights. Apart from Mumbai, we will also increase our flight frequency from Coimbatore,” says David Lim, general manager, India operations at Singapore Airlines.”
However, company might remove extra flights from Mumbai. As per the company, they are getting response on this route on occasional events. The demand on this route varies little bit more than the company expectations. As per the company statement “The demand varies in holiday season and normal days”. Company is looking to improve services and quality for Indian customers. Also SIA has thoughts about expansion in Indian market. Currently Singapore Airlines is operating flights in Thiruvananthapuram, Vizag, Delhi, Kochi, Mumbai, Bengluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai , Kolkata and Hyderabad.
After getting better response from Indian market, company is looking forward to make more profits by serving more customers. Year 2018 is going to be an awesome year for all the travelers.
